CITY PARKS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES ITS LARGEST EVER SCHEDULE OF PERFORMING ARTS EVENTS IN NYC PARKS IN ITS 18 YEAR HISTORY. THE 25TH ANNUAL MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., CONCERT SERIES AT WINGATE FIELD IN CENTRAL BROOKLYN, hosted by Borough President Marty Markowitz, includes a star-studded lineup of musical acts fitting for a silver anniversary celebration. BROOKLYN'S 29TH ANNUAL SUMMER SEASIDE CONCERT SERIES 2007: If you love music, you're in luck, because Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz is once again bringing exceptional musical talent from all over the world to Brooklyn. The 29th Annual Seaside Summer Concert Series begins July 12th with Tommy James & The Shondells, appearing there for the first time, joining with Jay Black and Johnny Maestro and The Brooklyn Bridge. MOTOWN COMES TO STONY BROOK: This summer, Long Island gets a little taste of the Motown sound when the Long Island Museum presents Reflections: The Mary Wilson Supreme Legacy Collection, curated by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum. The exhibition, beginning July 21, 2007, explores the exciting history of one of America's most popular groups ever, The Supremes. The exhibition will be on display through October 21, 2007. ARTS IN THE PARK. Mark your calendars every Tuesday for the annual Arts in the Parks beginning July 10th through August 7th. City Parks Foundation is pleased to announce its 2007 trio of summer performing arts festivals taking place in the five boroughs -- CityParks Theater presented by Time Warner, CityParks Concerts, and CityParks Dance. LIBERTY TOWERS 3RD BENEFIT MOTORYCLE RUN: Liberty Towers will have its 3rd benefit ride and party on Sunday, July 22, 2007. The event will travel through scenic Sussex and Warren Counties in New Jersey on an escorted run and will end the day with a picnic, prizes, a swap and motorcycle vendors. Registration is from 9:00am to 11:00am at the VFW on Mill Street (Rt. 519) in Newton, New Jersey. The picnic is open to the public and will start at 12:00pm and end by 3:00pm. Registration is $20 biker, $10 passenger and includes the picnic cost, door prizes and commemorative pin. The benefit is designed to raise awareness and financial support for a low-income senior public housing authority which is home to nearly 90 low income seniors and disabled adults in Newton. 2ND ANNUAL CASINO NIGHT TO BENEFIT THE RIVERHEAD FOUNDATION FOR MARINE RESEARCH AND PRESERVATION: Do you want to help save whales, dolphins, seals and sea turtles? Join the Riverhead Foundation for it's second annual CASINO NIGHT fundraiser on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Atlantis Marine World from 7:00 pm to Midnight to raise funds for New York's marine mammals. THE HONEYSUCKLE FOUNDATION FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER will host its Fifth Annual Golf & Tennis Classic, Monday, July 30, 2007 at The Mill River Club, Upper Brookville, New York. 10:00 am registration, Noon shotgun start. 5:00 pm Dinner/Reception and awards.The cost is $425 per person to register as an individual golfer, $1,600 per foursome. Each foursome receives a "hole sponsorship" sign. Tennis costs $150 per player. The day includes a day of golf, brunch, food and beverage stations on the course, golfers gift, awards for the best golfers and tennis players, putting contest, raffles and a fabulous dinner/coctail reception with full open bar. The event is to benefit the Honeysuckle Foundation for Children with Cancer, a grassroots Foundation that supports the psychosocial program for children with cancer and blood disorders at Schneider Children's Hospital, part of North Shore/LIJ Healthcare system. 2007 JAMAICA JAMS FESTIVAL: August 3rd and 4th, 2007 it's the annual Jamaica Arts & Music Summer (JAMS) Festival, in its 11th year of serving the community. Opening with "JAMS Under The Stars" concert on August 3rd at 6:00pm in King Park, followed by an all-day festival from Parson's Boulevard to 169th Street on August 4th. 7th ANNUAL SISTERS OF CHARITY GOLF OUTING: Tickets are now on sale for the Sisters of Charity Golf Outing on Monday, August 6th, 2007 at the Cherry Valley Club, Garden City, New York.
